Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve used to send vision information to the brain becomes damaged. Often, the fluid pressure inside the eyes slowly rises, which can lead to faster optic nerve damage and possible blindness. An ophthalmologist can detect glaucoma using one of several techniques. Once detected, there are two main methods of treatment.
